Macaroni Penguin | Eudyptes chrysolophus

The Macaroni Penguin is a Southern African bird that belongs to the Spheniscidae bird family group which includes birds such as Penguins.

The description for the Macaroni Penguin (Latin name Eudyptes chrysolophus) can be found in the 7th Edition of the Roberts Birds of Southern Africa. The Eudyptes chrysolophus can be quickly identified by its unique Roberts identification number of 5 and the detailed description of this bird is on page 630. The Macaroni Penguin has a height of 75 cms and weighs around 6000 gms. The head is coloured black while the bill is coloured red. The Eudyptes chrysolophus has a black coloured throat, pink legs and a black coloured back. The eyes are red.
